When I joined the Baltimore Nighthawks, I was so excited to share my experience with everyone. Anyone who knows me, knows I love the sport. Even with that knowledge, there are still some that were surprised to learn the news. I wanted so bad to be able to post me and the team in full blown uniforms on some “girls run the world” type style. However, the COVID-19 situation delayed that. Almost every week we asked about the uniforms. When the opportunity came for us to finally link up and get ALL our equipment, I was ecstatic! I didn’t even realize how much I had missed everyone until we were all together again. While I was initially focused on the uniform and the headshots, it felt sooo good to see everyone again. It was like long lost family and we just picked up where we left off and shared many laughs, as usual. But that feeling of putting on my jersey for the first time was indescribable. It instantly made me feel like all of this was real and I hadn’t been pretending to be a football player. It made me proud of what I had accomplished even though I never played a game. If we weren’t social distancing, I probably would have hugged Coach Bryan! She is the reason I am even able to be here and do something I love. The headshots turned more into a photo shoot thanks to Hugh. We watched each other, encouraged each other, and talked a little smack too! This event Coach put together was everything we needed, family, football, and food! 😊
