PNC Bank Extend Sponsorship Through 2024 Season

Relationship spans four years of promoting financial success throughout Maryland
BALTIMORE, May 18, 2024 – The Baltimore Nighthawks announced the extension of PNC Bank’s corporate sponsorship agreement through the 2024 season. The relationship is now entering its fourth year and supports the Nighthawks’ goal of providing a safe environment that enables women to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship.
“Many Maryland small business owners have been forced to get creative while navigating higher costs for supplies, material shortages, staffing shortages, loss of event venues, and other property. Costs for facilities have doubled over the last four years,” said Tanya Bryan, CEO of the Baltimore Nighthawks. “To have the consistent support of PNC Bank is something for which we are forever grateful.”
Since inception, the Baltimore Nighthawks focused on facilitating the development of strength and character in team members and throughout the organization. The team believes in actively participating in the community to support various charities and youth programs. The Nighthawks’ belief in community engagement and personal development is closely aligned with PNC’s focus and values, in addition to providing opportunities to expand the team’s network and participate in discussions with other business owners and community members engaged with the bank.
The Nighthawks will continue to work with PNC to promote financial education and success. “PNC is proud to continue supporting these professional women performing at the highest levels of their sport, while together we promote financial success throughout Maryland,” said Laura Gamble, PNC regional president for Greater Maryland. “As a coast-to-coast franchise with a local focus, we will work to help this exciting club achieve brilliant results both on and off the field.”

Baltimore Nighthawks, PNC Bank Continue Corporate Sponsorship For 2023

BALTIMORE, Jan. 10, 2023 – The Baltimore Nighthawks announced that PNC Bank will continue as a corporate sponsor for the 2023 season.

A member of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), the Baltimore Nighthawks was formed in 2007 to teach women in the greater Baltimore area the sport of football. Since then, it has grown to attract talented athletes throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and D.C., with the purpose of elevating women’s tackle football to the forefront of women’s sports.

Tanya Bryan, Chief Executive Officer of the Baltimore Nighthawks, said of the sponsorship renewal, “We are excited to continue our relationship with PNC Bank. This sponsorship allows us to provide the best resources for our athletes while expanding our support of Baltimore-area activities for youth and others.”

The extension of the PNC relationship is vital to my small business and the growth of women’s tackle football in Baltimore. Costs of doing business post COVID-19 have skyrocketed. This is especially impactful when needing to rent facilities for practice, classroom, weight training and game day. The travel costs have increased substantially so having a multi-year sponsor really helps with hotels, buses and flights.

PNC has always been committed to strengthening the economic vitality of the communities where they live and work. We have seen this throughout the Baltimore area with initiatives like the mobile bank branches which consists of a fleet of mobile units with teller services. It provides access and economic empowerment in areas that banks often avoid or underserve. Having a partner who is focused on helping drive initiatives to year to help women and local youth initiatives in Greater Baltimore is wonderful.
The goal of the Baltimore Nighthawks is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables women to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication and

sportsmanship. The team works to facilitate the development of strength and character in everyone that participates. The Baltimore Nighthawks also have demonstrated a commitment to supporting various charities, and youth and community engagement programs.

“Over the years, multiple youth programs have been eliminated, leaving children with limited options for after school activities,” Bryan said. “PNC’s sponsorship helps address this community need by allowing us to create opportunities for youth programs and events. The support of PNC Bank during one of the most trying times in modern history is something for which I am forever grateful. I look forward to the future and greater collaboration.”

TEAM BONDING WHILE SOCIAL DISTANCING

When I joined the Baltimore Nighthawks, I was so excited to share my experience with everyone. Anyone who knows me, knows I love the sport. Even with that knowledge, there are still some that were surprised to learn the news. I wanted so bad to be able to post me and the team in full blown uniforms on some “girls run the world” type style. However, the COVID-19 situation delayed that. Almost every week we asked about the uniforms. When the opportunity came for us to finally link up and get ALL our equipment, I was ecstatic! I didn’t even realize how much I had missed everyone until we were all together again. While I was initially focused on the uniform and the headshots, it felt sooo good to see everyone again. It was like long lost family and we just picked up where we left off and shared many laughs, as usual. But that feeling of putting on my jersey for the first time was indescribable. It instantly made me feel like all of this was real and I hadn’t been pretending to be a football player. It made me proud of what I had accomplished even though I never played a game. If we weren’t social distancing, I probably would have hugged Coach Bryan! She is the reason I am even able to be here and do something I love. The headshots turned more into a photo shoot thanks to Hugh. We watched each other, encouraged each other, and talked a little smack too! This event Coach put together was everything we needed, family, football, and food! 😊
