Baltimore Nighthawks, PNC Bank Continue Corporate Sponsorship For 2023
BALTIMORE, Jan. 10, 2023 – The Baltimore Nighthawks announced that PNC Bank will continue as a corporate sponsor for the 2023 season.
A member of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), the Baltimore Nighthawks was formed in 2007 to teach women in the greater Baltimore area the sport of football. Since then, it has grown to attract talented athletes throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia and D.C., with the purpose of elevating women’s tackle football to the forefront of women’s sports.
Tanya Bryan, Chief Executive Officer of the Baltimore Nighthawks, said of the sponsorship renewal, “We are excited to continue our relationship with PNC Bank. This sponsorship allows us to provide the best resources for our athletes while expanding our support of Baltimore-area activities for youth and others.”
The extension of the PNC relationship is vital to my small business and the growth of women’s tackle football in Baltimore. Costs of doing business post COVID-19 have skyrocketed. This is especially impactful when needing to rent facilities for practice, classroom, weight training and game day. The travel costs have increased substantially so having a multi-year sponsor really helps with hotels, buses and flights.
PNC has always been committed to strengthening the economic vitality of the communities where they live and work. We have seen this throughout the Baltimore area with initiatives like the mobile bank branches which consists of a fleet of mobile units with teller services. It provides access and economic empowerment in areas that banks often avoid or underserve. Having a partner who is focused on helping drive initiatives to year to help women and local youth initiatives in Greater Baltimore is wonderful.
The goal of the Baltimore Nighthawks is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables women to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication and
sportsmanship. The team works to facilitate the development of strength and character in everyone that participates. The Baltimore Nighthawks also have demonstrated a commitment to supporting various charities, and youth and community engagement programs.
“Over the years, multiple youth programs have been eliminated, leaving children with limited options for after school activities,” Bryan said. “PNC’s sponsorship helps address this community need by allowing us to create opportunities for youth programs and events. The support of PNC Bank during one of the most trying times in modern history is something for which I am forever grateful. I look forward to the future and greater collaboration.”
